Abu Dhabi City Municipality continues to promote the concept of shared responsibility in maintaining the cleanliness of residential neighbourhoods and public facilities through its “Our Home, Our Responsibility – Our Appearance Reflects Who We Are” campaign, implemented in collaboration with Tadweer Group. The campaign focuses on raising public awareness of the proper methods for disposing of bulky waste and encouraging positive practices that contribute to preserving the city’s appearance.
The campaign highlighted the importance of properly managing bulky waste, including old furniture, household appliances and other large items that cannot be disposed of through conventional waste containers. Proper disposal ensures that such waste is collected, transported and processed in accordance with approved procedures, while supporting sustainability efforts and reducing improper waste disposal practices.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality calls on community members to cooperate with the relevant authorities and adhere to the approved guidelines for the disposal of bulky waste by contacting the Abu Dhabi Government Contact Centre on 800555or through the TAMM platform and mobile application. These measures help preserve the cleanliness of neighbourhoods, protect public health and ensure that Abu Dhabi continues to serve as a model of cleanliness, beauty and sustainability.
The campaign is based on the principle that the appearance of a neighbourhood reflects the awareness of its residents and their commitment to their environment. It targets all members of the community through awareness messages encouraging them not to leave bulky waste in unauthorised locations, such as public spaces, beside waste containers or in front of residential properties, as such practices can detract from the city’s appearance and have adverse effects on cleanliness and public health.
These efforts form part of Abu Dhabi City Municipality’s ongoing commitment to enhancing quality of life and encouraging community members to adopt positive behaviours that maintain the cleanliness of neighbourhoods and support the city’s aesthetic and urban appearance, in line with Abu Dhabi’s position as a modern city that upholds the highest standards of environmental stewardship and sustainability.
