In line with its commitment to activating community facilities and enhancing communication with all segments of society, Abu Dhabi City Municipality organized a series of diverse sports events through the Al Shahama Municipality Center, Al Wathba Municipality Center, and the Bani Yas Municipality Community Center, in collaboration with a group of strategic partners. The goal is to encourage and motivate community members to engage in sports as a lifestyle, raise awareness to help reduce common diseases, and maintain the community's health.
To achieve these goals, Al Shahama Municipality Center organized an event for women and children at Al Shari’a Park, titled "Al Shari’a Park Sports Challenge," in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the Department of Economic Development, the Department of Culture and Tourism, KIZAD Group, the Friends of the Environment Society, the Pension Fund, Tajmeel Medical Center, and Al Bustan Medical Center. The event featured a women's marathon, a marathon for all community members and people of determination, along with cultural, educational, traditional, and recreational health workshops for seniors and school students.
Additionally, Al Wathba Municipality Center organized a sports event for the entire community at Al Khatim Park, titled "Al Khatim Park Sports Challenge," in collaboration with Emirates School Establishment (Al Khatim School for Boys), Medcare Hospital, and Abu Dhabi Sports Club. The event included an awareness workshop on the importance of regular exercise in maintaining physical activity and overall health and various sports competitions among students in football and other sports.
In celebration of Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week, the Baniyas Municipal Community Center, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority and Bani Yas Equestrian Center, organized a sports day for children under 14. The day included a school trip for students from Bani Yas schools to visit the Bani Yas Equestrian Center, with an educational workshop on the benefits and importance of horse riding. Children were also allowed to ride horses under the supervision of the center’s trainers, encouraging them to engage in this sport.
