Abu Dhabi City Municipality, represented by the Strategic Planning and Performance Management Sector, participated as a strategic supporter in the World Governance Summit 2025, which was held in Dubai during the current month of January.
This participation comes within the framework of the municipality's keenness to benefit from distinguished global experiences in corporate governance, while reviewing its pioneering achievements and enhancing cooperation with strategic partners at the regional and international levels.
During the summit, Abu Dhabi Municipality affirmed its commitment to leadership in applying the highest standards of governance and institutional innovation. Mr. Omar Mohammed Al Shehhi, Acting Executive Director of the Strategic Planning and Performance Management Sector, explained that the municipality's participation in the World Governance Summit reflects the effective role of leadership in enhancing institutional efficiency and excellence, while keen to develop innovative solutions that support achieving goals and meeting the needs of society.
Ms. Sarah Saleh Al Buraiki, Acting Director of the Corporate Excellence Department, also stressed the importance of the advanced systems adopted by the municipality in managing risks and improving corporate governance.
She pointed out that these systems reflect the municipality’s commitment to implementing the best international practices, which contributes to enhancing institutional efficiency through advanced and effective solutions.
For her part, Ms. Nawal Ali Al Hammadi, Acting Director of the Performance Department, indicated that the summit was an ideal opportunity to highlight the effectiveness of the framework adopted by the municipality in performance management.
She added that this framework has contributed significantly to achieving institutional goals and enhancing the sustainability of results, reflecting the municipality’s vision for continuous development.
The summit witnessed the presentation of a live presentation by the Abu Dhabi City Municipality, in cooperation with its strategic partner, “Technology Strategies Middle East” (TSME), of its current systems used in managing risks, governance and enhancing institutional performance. The presentation provided participants with a practical look at how these systems can be used to support decision-making and improve institutional operations. It also provided a unique opportunity to see the effectiveness of the innovative technologies adopted by the municipality in cooperation with its partners to achieve institutional excellence.
