In an effort to activate Abu Dhabi City Municipality's public facilities—including parks, gardens, sports tracks, and cycling paths—through a variety of community, sports, environmental, and health events, the municipality, represented by the City Municipality Center and Madinat Zayed Municipality Center, organized a series of sports activities during December 2024. These events were aimed at encouraging community members to adopt walking as a regular activity, in collaboration with several strategic partners.
For its part, the City Municipality Center, in cooperation with the Rosewood Hotel and Al Reem Hospital, organized the “Abu Dhabi Corniche Path Challenge” event on the Corniche Beach, targeting all members of society. The event included a bicycle challenge between participants, in which 80 contestants participated. The event included organizing an awareness workshop on the benefits of exercising, to encourage members of society to exercise in the sports walkways and bicycle paths established by the Abu Dhabi City Municipality in various cities and regions within its geographical scope. The event also included free medical examinations for participants by the Al Reem Hospital team.
Within the same framework, the Municipal Presence Center - Rabdan, in cooperation with Volt Sports Club and Medeor Hospital, is organizing a sports event on Thursday, December 26, targeting all members of society, under the title (Rabdan Sports Park Challenge)
The event aims to create health and sports awareness, encourage the use of community facilities provided by the municipality to contribute to enhancing the public health of the community, reduce common diseases, make sports a way of life for all members of society, raise awareness of the importance of practicing sports, and enhance the quality of life
The event includes sports exercises, an awareness workshop entitled (Sports is a Life Routine), comprehensive medical examinations, awareness of the importance of caring for public health, and implementing a walking event around the park, in addition to entertainment and competitions, and presenting prizes to make the event participants happy.
