Abu Dhabi

In line with global events that contribute to enhancing community awareness, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through the Municipal Services Sector - Environment, Health and Safety Department, will participate in Earth Hour tomorrow evening, Saturday, March 22, by turning off the lights of its buildings from 8:30 to 9:30 pm.
The Municipality calls on community members to turn off unnecessary lights to conserve electricity and raise awareness of the dangers of climate change, in order to preserve the environment.
It is worth noting that Earth Hour is an annual global event organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature, which encourages individuals, communities, homeowners, and businesses to turn off unnecessary lights and electronic devices for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The Earth Hour initiative aims to encourage individuals and organizations to take initiatives to rationalize daily electricity and water consumption, combat pollution, and contribute to recycling and rationalizing consumption in general.
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) suggests a number of measures for individuals, organizations, companies, schools, universities, and others to participate in Earth Hour, including turning off unnecessary lights for an hour and raising awareness of the occasion and environmental conservation. The WWF also calls on institutions and companies to educate their employees about climate change through activities related to the occasion and to take consistent steps to conserve sustainable energy in the workplace.
