Abu Dhabi City Municipality, represented by the Municipal Services Sector, has emphasized the importance of adhering to and implementing environmental, health, and safety requirements while executing all types of events.
This came during the virtual awareness workshop via the Microsoft Teams program, which was organized by the Environment, Health and Safety Department, and aimed to raise awareness among event organizers affiliated with the Community Services and Happiness Department in the sub-municipal centers regarding the environmental impacts of events, and the environmental, health and safety consequences resulting from the municipality’s activities represented by events.
The workshop focused on successful practices and mechanisms for applying environmental, health, and safety standards and precautionary measures to prevent accidents and injuries during events. It also aimed to enhance awareness among participants and organizers about the environmental impacts of events and to identify the environmental effects that need to be measured during events, including noise levels, waste identification and sorting, and guidance on filling out the environmental impact measurement form.
Additionally, the workshop addressed methods to balance the needs of events with the preservation of the surrounding environment and community while contributing to sustainability and improving environmental performance.
