In order to strengthen relations, fruitful joint cooperation, and exchange of expertise in various fields, Abu Dhabi City Municipality received delegations from many local institutions and bodies across the Emirates during the year 2024, with the aim of learning about their successful experiences in various sectors, exchanging expertise and successful experiences with many entities, and employing them in achieving continuous improvement of services.
Within this framework, the municipality received a delegation from the General Secretariat of the Federal National Council, where the delegation was briefed on the occupational health and safety system applied by the municipality. It also received a delegation from the Central Records and Archiving Department at the Presidential Court, to review the best practices and experiences applied and the electronic systems in the field of archiving and preserving documents and electronic correspondence in the municipality. It also received a delegation from the Human Resources Department at the Department of Economic Development, to review the best practices in managing alternative service recruits.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality also received delegations from several municipalities across the country, including a delegation from Dubai Municipality - Emergency and Business Continuity Department, to inform them of best practices and conduct a benchmarking in managing operations of command and control centers. During the meeting, the delegation was briefed on the tasks of the municipality’s operations center, the systems and policies in place, and how to cooperate between the two parties. It was also briefed on operational indicators, data and indicators of emergency, crisis and disaster operations.
The municipality also received a delegation from the Sharjah City Municipality, which was briefed on the institutional performance monitoring system and its features, and on risk management and linking it with projects and initiatives. A benchmarking was also conducted for the list of fees and violations in the fields of engineering, building control, building permits, sanitation, public services, agriculture and gardens.
The municipality was visited by a delegation from Fujairah Municipality, represented by the Land Services Department, Industrial and Temporary Lands and Farms Department, who were briefed during the visit on the best practices applied in the field of industrial lands. The municipality received a delegation from the Municipality and Planning Department in the Emirate of Ajman - Spatial Data Department, to review the best practices followed in the Surveying Department. The Musaffah Municipality Center also received a delegation from the Al Dhafra Region Municipality, to review the best practices applied in the management and operation of the Musaffah Bazaar Market.
The visits of delegations from various departments to the Abu Dhabi City Municipality continued. The municipality received - at different times - delegations from three departments of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, namely: (General Services Department, Human Resources Department, Public Health Department), where the delegation of the General Services Department was briefed on the work mechanism and procedures followed in the delivery and management of vehicles, the systems used and modern technology in vehicle management, the mechanism for receiving and delivering vehicles and the models they use, the method of managing violations and misuse, in addition to reviewing the innovations applied in the management of vehicle assets.
While the delegation from the Human Resources Department at the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority was briefed on the best practices in the field of human resources, rental advance procedures and required documents, the method of dealing with amounts due from resigned and terminated employees, and the procedures related to disclosures and declarations contained in the Human Resources Law, while the delegation from the Public Health Department at the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority was briefed on the best practices followed in the field of outsourcing and privatization of services to the public.
In the same context, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality received a delegation from the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Centre of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, where it briefed them on the best practices in all areas of procurement management: the organisational structure of the department, the tasks of the department, the systems used in the department, the performance indicators and the awards received by the municipality. A delegation from the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination also visited the municipality to review the recruitment procedures and the best practices applied in this field.
The visits were not limited to receiving delegations at the municipality building, but there were multiple virtual meetings, including a virtual meeting with the Ras Al Khaimah Municipality Department - Public Health Department, to review the best practices in installing and operating public drinking water coolers (water fountain), as well as a virtual meeting with the Marketing and Corporate Communications Department at the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, during which the municipality's successful experiences were reviewed, and knowledge and experience were transferred regarding the municipality's winning of the Sharjah Government Communication Award in its tenth session for the year 2023 (Best Integrated Communication System category), as well as reviewing the municipality's best distinguished practices in corporate communication.
