Under the slogan: (Our facilities are our responsibility) and with the aim of improving the quality of life, providing a suitable residential environment, and achieving peace and tranquility for all residents, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, represented by the Sub-Municipalities Operations Sector, implemented an awareness campaign that aimed to raise the level of general awareness of workers at construction sites regarding urging them to adhere to the laws and regulations that regulate noise control and sounds resulting from the implementation of works and construction at construction sites in this regard, and visitors to parks and public facilities
This campaign comes in line with the municipality’s keenness to enhance the comfort and tranquility requirements of the residents, and to work on creating a suitable environment that achieves comfort and tranquility for all, and to emphasize the necessity and inevitability of adhering to the laws related to the permissible levels of noise, especially in projects close to residential areas, and to respect the rights of others not to be exposed to any source of disturbance.
The campaign also included, in addition to raising awareness of construction sites, raising awareness of park visitors to urge them not to cause any kind of disturbance, and to adhere to calm and tranquility.
Within this framework, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality called on workers in the construction sector to obtain work permits outside the authorized hours, especially evening and night hours, and to adhere to appropriate working hours according to the laws and regulations in force in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and to take care not to make disturbing noises, especially during peak traffic hours.
The field awareness campaign coincided with an electronic campaign via the municipality's official electronic platforms and the (Frijna) application by broadcasting messages and awareness films on encouraging residents and operating entities to adhere to not disturbing and making noise, and by organizing an electronic awareness workshop in coordination with the Environment, Health and Safety Department targeting contractors to educate them about the negative effects of noise production at construction sites on society. The campaign also included organizing a workshop through the (Teams) program for contractors to explain the laws related to noise and disturbance, and the means to reduce noise at construction sites.
