Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality continues its year-round campaigns to preserve the aesthetic and civilized appearance of all areas within its geographical scope. This campaign, in line with the urban and cultural renaissance witnessed by Abu Dhabi, preserves the public appearance, enhances quality of life standards, and contributes to the happiness of community members, is ongoing.
With this in mind, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through its City Municipality Center, implemented a campaign to preserve the public appearance of abandoned bicycles and electric bikes. This campaign covered all areas within the center's administrative jurisdiction, in cooperation with Emirates Auctions.
The campaign included identifying and removing abandoned bicycles and electric bikes that caused damage to assets and the public appearance in all areas under the center, such as: Al Dana, Al Hosn, Al Mushrif, Zayed Port, Al Reem Island, Saadiyat Island, Al Maryah Island, and Al Hudayriat. The campaign resulted in issuing violations to a number of motorcycles, and removing 922 bicycles and 43 neglected electric bikes, which obstructed the movement of pedestrians and distorted the general appearance. This comes within the framework of the municipality's interest in confronting negative phenomena and behaviors, in order to preserve the general civilized and aesthetic appearance.
