Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi City Municipality places great importance on maintaining the cleanliness of islands within its geographical jurisdiction and continuously works to enhance the overall aesthetic and healthy environment. This effort aims to preserve the marine environment and attract visitors to the islands as recreational destinations that contribute to the community's well-being.
As part of its ongoing initiatives and campaigns throughout the year to maintain the general and cultural appearance of the islands, the City Municipality, through its City Municipality Center, launched a cleanup campaign for Abu Dhabi's marine islands and beaches. The campaign targeted the following islands: Al-Aliah, Ramhan, Ujaij, Al-Zubara, Al-Shelaylah, Al-Lulu, Al-Halah Al-Bahrani, Al-Masnooa, Al-Tuyoor, and Abu as Sayayif. The initiative aimed to preserve the environment and the general appearance of the islands, strengthening the municipal presence and fostering the relationship between the municipality and island residents.
The campaign, organized in collaboration with "Tadweer Group," is part of the municipality's continuous efforts to maintain the aesthetic and cultural integrity of the islands by removing waste and litter and ensuring the cleanliness of the beaches and marine environment.
During the campaign, municipality teams and strategic partners carried out cleaning activities on the targeted islands. The participants traveled to the islands by boat, and teams were assigned to pre-identified locations for cleaning. As a result of the campaign, various types of waste and random litter were collected and transported off the islands by Tadweer Group for proper disposal.
