Abu Dhabi is home to exemplary beaches equipped with modern facilities that meet the highest global standards, providing the community with ideal environments for leisure activities. These beaches align with the criteria of the International Blue Flag Award, which is granted to entities managing beaches in recognition of their excellence in beach management, ensuring comfort, luxury, and safety for visitors, and offering various services to make the beaches safe and comprehensive.
As part of its efforts to maintain the International Blue Flag Award for both Abu Dhabi Corniche Beach and Al Bateen Beach, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through the City Municipality Center, organized an educational initiative at Al Bateen Public Beach titled Sustainable Beaches. The initiative targeted beach visitors, including children, school students, and various community groups, in collaboration with Al Manhal International Private School and Tornado Total Landscape Company.
Municipality teams and strategic partners educated visitors to Al Bateen Public Beach on critical practices that enhance beach sustainability standards, raising awareness about preserving beaches and their public facilities. This contributes to improving services offered to the community, enhancing the quality of life, and the continuous management, development, and activation of municipal facilities.
The initiative also highlighted positive practices that should be followed when visiting the beach and their significance in preserving it. These efforts aim to promote the community's perception of sustainable facilities, reduce negative environmental impacts, and raise environmental awareness among all segments of society regarding the proper ways to enjoy the beach environment.
