Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through its Environment, Health, and Safety Department, has launched a cleanup campaign targeting new construction sites in Abu Dhabi. The initiative, which aligns with National Environment Day, is directed at construction company owners, consulting offices, and workers in construction sites.
Running from February 4 to 9, 2025, the campaign aims to raise awareness among stakeholders in the construction and building sector—particularly site workers—about the importance of maintaining clean and healthy construction environments. The initiative emphasizes the removal of environmental pollutants and construction waste from sites, ensuring their proper and safe disposal in designated areas.
The campaign also seeks to engage real estate developers, consultants, and contractors in environmental responsibility, encouraging them to educate and motivate their workers to adopt environmentally friendly practices. These practices form the cornerstone of a sustainable environment and development strategy.
Municipal inspectors have been actively involved in the campaign, educating construction site workers about the importance of keeping their sites clean and free from environmental pollutants, unsightly debris, or hazardous waste that could harm the health of workers or community members passing by. This effort underscores the Municipality's commitment to safeguarding public health and ensuring the well-being of all.
It is worth noting that National Environment Day is a significant occasion that brings together organizations across the nation to showcase their efforts in environmental protection, conservation of natural resources, and sustainable development. This observance promotes the judicious use of
resources, minimizes environmental pollution, and benefits future generations by fostering a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment—thereby enhancing the quality of life for all.
