His Excellency Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, Director General of Abu Dhabi City Municipality, stressed that our celebration of “Flag Day” expresses with all sincerity and clarity the most beautiful and true meanings of loyalty and devotion to the homeland and to its lofty, high-flying flag that united the people of the Emirates under the shadow of a wise leadership. It is an occasion that we are proud of, as we are proud of the achievements of the homeland and the union that granted us pride and dignity. We congratulate and are happy as a united people under the shadow of the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State (may God protect him) and his brothers, the rulers of the Emirates. This celebration is an affirmation of the renewal of loyalty to our leadership, to the flag of our country’s union, to the founding leaders, and to the national values that this flag, dear to our hearts, contains.It is a very important occasion for us to renew our energies in order to exert more efforts that will consolidate the pillars of our country and enhance its position at all levels. From this standpoint, we take Flag Day as a motivation and positive energy to move forward on the path of growth, progress and improving the quality of life, and achieving the goals of our leadership in making society happy and contributing to comprehensive development.
This came during the celebration organised by the Abu Dhabi City Municipality at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of His Excellency, Their Excellencies the Executive Directors, Department Directors, Section Heads and all the Municipality’s female and male employees on the occasion of “Flag Day”.
His Excellency added that Flag Day stimulates the energy of giving and sacrifice in our hearts, and pushes us forward to achieve our ambitions, improve our lives, and consolidate the UAE’s position as a destination for giving, tolerance, achievements, civilized status, and policies that aim to make humanity happy and promote the values of peace and love.
On this occasion, His Excellency called on all members of society to pay attention to the country’s flag, preserve it in its most beautiful form and shape, use it in accordance with the applicable standards and protocol, and maintain it permanently so that it remains high, fluttering, and a symbol of the pride of our nation, the dignity of the people of the Emirates, and their past, present, and future.
As part of the celebration organized by the municipality on the occasion of "Flag Day", His Excellency Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, General Manager of Abu Dhabi City Municipality, raised the UAE flag on the mast in front of the municipality building on Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street, in celebration and pride of the nation's flag, the symbol of its unity and pride, through an official ceremony to celebrate this precious occasion.
