Key Highlights:
● Strengthening cooperation and coordination between government institutions to maintain the city's general appearance.
● Educating store owners and building managers about the relevant legal procedures and regulations.
Al Ain Municipality, in collaboration with Department of Economic Development, has organized an inspection campaign targeting storefront violations in the downtown areas of the city. The campaign aims to enhance cooperation and coordination between government institutions to maintain the city's appearance and minimize negative phenomena that detract from its overall aesthetic. Additionally, it seeks to streamline inspection procedures and enforce regulatory guidelines issued by Department of Municipalities and Transport.
Saud Al Nuaimi, Head of the Follow-up and Coordination Department at the municipality, explained that some of the most common violations on commercial building storefronts include installing and using advertising signs without permits, hanging flags, banners, or symbols that distort the city's appearance, leaking liquids, improper disposal of waste in undesignated areas, and any unapproved tools, devices, or decorative changes to building facades.
Al Nuaimi added that during the joint inspection campaign, violations and warnings were issued. The campaign also aimed to educate and inform shop owners and building managers about the legal procedures and regulations concerning storefront violations, helping them avoid fines and reduce these violations, which negatively affect the city's visual appeal.
It's worth noting that the central municipal office has carried out various campaigns and inspection visits since the beginning of the year, including inspections of municipal warehouses and beehive boxes. Other campaigns include the winter campaign for maintaining public appearance and safety in desert areas, a campaign targeting storefronts, inspections of homes in Jebel Hafeet and Ain Al Fayda, and a campaign to assess infrastructure damage following adverse weather conditions that affected the city.
