Department of Municipalities and Transport - Al Ain City Municipality has announced the provision of Ramadan tent permits in Al Ain through "TAMM" platform, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan. These permits include both temporary and charitable tents. The temporary Ramadan tent permit service, available outside residential plot boundaries, allows individuals to set up a Ramadan tent outside residential plot boundaries immediately. The second service is the permit for setting up a charitable Ramadan tent, which is provided by tent installation companies and is issued within one working day after site approval. All Ramadan tent services are free of charge for all categories.
The municipality has outlined requirements for all types of Ramadan tent licenses, including adherence to safety and security regulations, prohibition of using cooking equipment or charcoal inside the tent, and banning any selling, buying, renting, promotional activities, lectures, or lessons inside or outside the tent without the necessary approvals from relevant authorities. Additionally, the use of loudspeakers inside or outside the tents is prohibited to maintain public peace and avoid disturbances.
For the temporary Ramadan tent permit service outside residential plot boundaries, individuals are allowed to set up only one tent outside the plot with an area not exceeding 60 square meters and a maximum height of 4.5 meters. The tent can be constructed using typical tent materials such as wool, traditional Arabic tents, and tarpaulin. The tent must be erected in the area between the plot and the pavement, without affecting traffic, pedestrian pathways, or any other services.
The municipality confirms that all permits meet the requirements and approvals from the General Directorate of Civil Defense, Al Ain Distribution Company, General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Traffic and Patrols Department, and the Integrated Transport Center (ITC) of Abu Dhabi, depending on the tent's location.
The municipality urges service beneficiaries to adhere to the specified conditions to avoid permit withdrawal and tent removal if any violations of the set requirements are detected.
