As a continuing initiative to foster relationships with strategic partners, Abu Dhabi City Municipality frequently organizes networking sessions. Represented by the Strategic Planning and Performance Management Sector, Knowledge and Innovation Management, Support and Support Services Sector, and the Municipal Services Sector - Corporate Marketing Department, the Municipality spearheaded a collaboration with several academic institutions, including universities and colleges. This engaging session took place within the premises of the Municipality's main building.
The session attracted the participation of a multitude of universities, colleges, and educational institutions including United Arab Emirates University, Khalifa University, Zayed University, Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities, New York University-Abu Dhabi, Sorbonne University-Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi University, Higher Colleges of Technology, Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Al-Khwarizmi International College, Liwa College of Technology, Abu Dhabi Institute For education and vocational training.
The primary objective of the session was to strengthen the cooperation between Abu Dhabi City Municipality and strategic partners from universities and colleges. This is aimed at enhancing the skills and competencies of its employees by conducting workshops and courses, in partnership with the participating academic bodies.
Additionally, the forum sought to provide students of participating universities with training opportunities on real projects within Abu Dhabi City Municipality, thus fortifying their skills before they embark on their professional journey. It also aimed at identifying exceptional students to recruit talent within the municipality, bolstering collaboration with academic institutions in fields pertinent to the tasks of Abu Dhabi City Municipality, and assisting the sectors of Abu Dhabi City Municipality with technical and specialized studies and research carried out by the participating academic entities.
The session featured the execution of six engaging workshops, collaboratively organized with numerous participating universities and colleges. The content of these workshops spanned multiple areas, such as communication strategies, special tuition discounts offered to Abu Dhabi City Municipality employees by universities and colleges, approaches for recruiting and attracting top-tier graduates (including 'graduates of determination'), and the infrastructure for volunteer involvement between academic institutions and the Abu Dhabi City Municipality. Additional topics included establishing a cooperation agenda for each entity's events, identifying pathways to contribute actively to the Municipality and academic forum activities, and discussions on sharing Abu Dhabi City Municipality projects with academic bodies to uncover opportunities for reciprocal benefits.
