Al Ain City Municipality is executing a development project at the Zoo Roundabout, which includes constructing a signalized intersection, bike lanes, and pedestrian paths. It is part of a broader project to improve road infrastructure along the new truck route, Shoaib Road, Tahnoun bin Mohammed Road, and Hazza bin Sultan Road. Completion is expected by the end of 2025.
Engineer Omar Essam, project manager, said the initiative includes converting the roundabout into a traffic-light intersection, enhancing pavement quality, and constructing cycling and pedestrian paths to improve traffic flow and access to nearby facilities. The project also aims to enhance the overall appearance and sustainability of the city and improve quality of life.
He added that it will ease congestion, especially during peak hours, enhance road safety, and comply with environmental sustainability standards.
