Al Ain City Municipality launched an awareness campaign to preserve the UAE flag under the slogan " Fly High and be Proud…UAE Flag " from October 1st until October 31, in preparation for the annual celebration of the UAE national day, and flag day on November 3rd .
Fatima Al Shamsi, Head of Community Communication Section at Al Ain City Municipality, says:” that the campaign to maintain the flag comes with the participation of a number of strategic partners such as the Department of Knowledge and Education, Abu Dhabi Police and private sector entities, and in turn aims to educate community members about the importance of maintaining the UAE flag raised over buildings and houses and replacing damaged ones, and the campaign will cover a large number of homes And buildings in all areas of Al Ain city.
Al Shamsi added: “the municipality seeks, through the campaign to create community awareness about the importance of preserving the flag periodically as a national symbol while ensuring the preservation of its colours and reserve it from being damaged and torn, and the campaign includes awareness field visits to the owners of buildings and houses that violate the requirements for raising the flag, in addition to raising community awareness through community forums with the people of the regions.
Awareness of the importance of preserving the flag will also be published on social media channels in different languages, including awareness messages focusing on replacing the flag periodically, ensuring the flag after storms, in addition to examining the flag to know that it still retains its elegance and beauty, while making sure not to decorate the flag with any decoration on its edges in compliance with the guide for the uses of the flag in the UAE. “
