Al Ain City Municipality has successfully set a new world record in the Guinness World Records for the longest fireworks display during the 53rd UAE Union Day celebrations. The event, held on December 2, featured a fireworks display that spanned an impressive 11.1 kilometers, with 51 launch platforms, surpassing the previous record of 7.8 kilometers.
Rashid Mubarak Al-Manei, Director-General of Al Ain City Municipality, received the certificate from Guinness World Records representatives in the presence of several officials and staff members during the award ceremony held at the main municipality building.
Maitha Ali Al Kuwaiti, Head of the Events Section at Al Ain City Municipality, stated that the municipality aimed to make this year’s celebrations special for this important occasion. Prior arrangements were made with the Guinness team to record the longest fireworks display, which contributed to this remarkable achievement during the Union Day celebrations.
Al Kuwaiti further noted that the fireworks displays received an enthusiastic response from the public. The events were organized at five different locations in Al Ain, with the main show held at Hili Fun Park. The total attendance during the two days of celebrations reached approximately 30,000 visitors. The festivities included fireworks, drone shows, folk arts performances, and additional accompanying activities, as well as light displays on the municipality building.
It is worth mentioning that this is the second Guinness World Record achieved by Al Ain City Municipality this year, following the recognition for the "Largest Flower Bouquet" during the Flower Festival in February 2024.
